Service
Many hands make light work, and there is no exception to that saying at St. Christopher's.  Our members make generous contributions of their time and talent in service to our community church.

Our Web Site would be incomplete without recognizing our service groups.

Service Groups

Acolytes

These young members of our congregation are instrumental ministers of our worship services.  It is so impressive to see our children grow and take roles of responsibility in service to the congregation.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild prepares the Table for the Lord's feast and cleans after conclusion of the service.  Easter and Christmas are just two of the many occasions when their contributions "shine."

Chalice Bearers

Our Chalice Bearers assist the minister at the service and distribute the Sacred Cup of Salvation after the priest distributes the consecrated Bread of Life.

Cleaning Crew

A small rural church cleans up after itself.  Our cleaning crew does just that.

St. Kitt's Guild

St. Kitt's Guild is the ladies guild of St. Christopher's church. It is an organization that is dedicated to the support of the church and the community. Funds are raised to purchase needed items for the church. Also to help pay the babysitter, and to purchase all of the kitchen and bathroom supplies. One third of the funds are used for outreach in the community. This outreach includes clothing for children in need at Griffin School, holiday food baskets for local families, and donations to Safeplace, The Food Bank, The Salvation Army, and Faith Homes for girls. Funds are raised by selling Steamboat Island sweatshirts, T-shirts, and hats. Also by working on wedding and funeral receptions. Occasionally the need arises for other fund raisers such as rummage sales and craft sales. Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 10:00 am at the church. Membership is open to all members of the church.

Youth Groups

Our Youth Groups are led by our new associate minister, Pastor Sandra Kries, who is a Lutheran minister serving  an Episcopal
congregation through the Call To Common Ministry agreement between the Episcopal and Lutheran churches.  We have a Middle School group and Young Adult (high school/college) group.
Others: Pastor, Organist, the Beacon Editor, Treasurer

Fr. Peter Van Zanten is our pastor and has served in this part time position since 1992.  Our deacon who assists Fr. Pete is Becky Scott.

Jeff Sprengel is our organist and has been with us for several years. We enjoy the spirited cadence of his music during the service.  His preludes are a source of inspiration and joy.

Annette Settle is editor of The Beacon, our church newsletter.
Tawni Ricchio is the bookkeeper for the church.

Greg Settle is our Treasurer.
